When I lived in San Diego during my high school years, we’d frequently pass by Carlsbad and there, off the freeway, you can see all the colors of the full-bloom ranunculuses covering the hills. They looked gorgeous. But I wasn’t mature enough to appreciate a flower field like that just yet.
It wasn’t until I moved an hour and a half away that I finally made a trip into The Flower Field and roamed the many rows of blooming flowers that graced the land. I don’t think I was much of a photographer back then nor did I have any fashion sense, so I can’t find any images from back then, haha.
However, this time around, I didn’t make the same mistake.
SIMILAR LINEN SHIFT DRESS
Disregarding the fact that it slightly resembles a much more chic prisoner’s uniform, I wore a simple blue and white linen shift dress from J.Crew Factory that just screams spring (vacation). It creases like a mofo, but hey, when you’re surrounded by so much beauty, that’s the furthest thing from my mind. In general though, I’ve been loving anything linen!
We may be packing away for a trip to the southern Caribbeans soon, which means I’ll be bringing this dress with me!
It was such a gorgeous day to be spending at the Flower Field. The sun was bright, the weather was warm, and the breeze was welcoming. It may have even been from the ocean, because we were able to see a good chunk of it from the hill! If you’re ever in Southern California during the spring, I highly recommend a visit! Plus, the Carlsbad outlet is right next door and they share the same parking lot, so it’s definitely a good way to spend the day!
