Goals for 2018

To say that the year of 2017 has flown by is an understatement. Along with it came some momentous occasions that I will cherish forever, such as marrying my husband in the beautiful beach of Riviera Maya, Mexico, jet-setting to Paris for my first time for our unofficial honeymoon, and purchasing a home to call our own.

Now, as we close out of 2017, I can only anticipate what will happen in this new year.

But a few personal goals that I have for 2018:

  1. BECOME HEALTHIER: Once upon a time, I was an athletic person. I was on a sports team, working out every day, and enjoying the feeling of my heart beating faster as my skin moistened. These days, I feel like I can’t be bothered. And that negligence weighs on my mind and spirit. So I’m determined to be better at it by actually putting ‘going to the gym’ on the schedule instead of it being something I do if I have time.
  2. FLUENT IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE: I have been teetering on 30 – 40% fluency in French on Duolingo for the better part of two years. Well, no more! This year, I’m going to make it to 100%.
  3. BLOG THREE TIMES PER WEEK: I need a schedule. That’s what I’ve learned. If I don’t have a routine or a schedule, I tend to waste my days in front of the screen and binging on television or movies. I want to make this blog successful, and being consistent is definitely one way to do so.
  4. BECOME MORE OF A LADY: I was watching ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ on Amazon Prime (amazing show by the creator of Gilmore Girls) and have become enamored with the old-fashioned way of being a lady like straighten your back and keep your nails well manicured. I know this isn’t quite the feminist view on things, but there’s something about being a “proper” lady that strikes my fancy, especially in a society where we’ve started to dress in sweats to do everything. In fact, I may end up doing a whole blog post about this.

    Thanks for sharing 🙂 I’m totally on board with 1 and 4 myself! All throughout last year, I told myself to get fitter and leaner…it just never seems to be something I want to commit to. This year will be different..she says.
