As I’ve gotten older, one thing that I have developed to enjoy is a good routine. Routines help plan my time more efficiently and lessens decision fatigue that I so often get. A few months after moving in to our first home, coming from a teeny tiny apartment with a dark, super cramped kitchen, I finally had a kitchen that inspired me to cook. With marble-like quartz countertops, better natural light, and just more room to play with, I wanted to spend more time to make home-made dishes.
And that’s how we formed a weekend routine where I would spend Sunday morning whipping up chocolate chip pancakes from scratch. As the aroma of the cooked pancakes topped with fresh raspberries travel to the upstairs bedroom, Joseph would finally wake up from his peaceful slumber and join me for a homemade breakfast.
FAVORITE KITCHEN SUPPLIES
As I’ve gotten to explore more time in the kitchen, I do have some favorite kitchen tools that have made my life easier and, well, prettier. I’m not a fan of buying cheap things that need to get replaced anytime soon because, truth be told, the world could do with less junk in the landfill. So I try to buy with intention of them lasting a lifetime.
KitchenAid Mixer: This mixer is one of my pride and joy in the kitchen. At the moment, I don’t use it as much as I’d like, but that’s mainly my fault as I don’t try new recipes enough. But with all of the attachments that you can use with this, like pasta maker and food grinder, there’s so many reasons to add a KitchenAid Mixer into your kitchen inventory. Plus, it looks damn pretty on the counter. Win.
Le Creuset Egg Carton: This product is a bit luxurious, because who really needs a ceramic egg carton when the eggs already come in cartons? But you can’t argue that it doesn’t look pretty, can you? Plus, it’s become quite the conversation starter for guests when we’re chatting away around the kitchen island.
Le Creuset Stackable Ramekin: As a whole, I love the Le Creuset’s brand and aesthetic. I can see myself using their products for years and years, and maybe even a lifetime. Another product I use on an everyday basis are their stackable Ramekins because they’re just perfect for prepping food, and even as little dessert bowls.
Crate and Barrel Mixing Bowl: I needed a mixing bowl, but I didn’t want just any mixing bowl. That’s why the Crate and Barrel’s stainless steel mixing bowls are perfect for me, as they just have more umph, if you know what I mean. They’re thicker, sturdier, and just have a quality to them that makes them feel more luxurious without costing an absorbent amount.
OXO container: The pantry door that we chose had a see-through glass on it, which basically meant that our pantry was on display. To make sure that everything looked neat and tidy, I went with using OXO’s containers. Not only are they great at sealing the food, they look presentable. I love using them for storing everything from cereals to salt and sugar.
What does your weekend routine look like?
I love a routine! Unfortunately I don’t have one at the moment, five weeks back into uni and I’m still not in the hang of one yet, but your post makes me want to sort that out asap!

I’ve been living in a hotel room for the past three weeks, waiting to get settled in a permanent home within a couple of weeks, as we move to different states. I get the feeling -_-“

You’ll have to share some baking recipes! :3
Routines definitely help me to live a life with less anxiety. My Sunday routine involves going to church, an after-church nap, and some creative time using my Whimsical Escapes book.
Happy Monday!

As a creature of habit, there’s nothing I love more than routine! If I find myself straying from my daily norm, I feel like nothing but chaos ensues! Chocolate chip pancakes are a staple at my house! I usually end up making them for dinner though. KitchenAid mixers are amazing! If only they weren’t so bulky and heavy!

Oh, my gosh. I had to carry the Kitchenaid from the far corners of the counter to the island, and it was a brute!
Routine in good especially if its a good one but unfortunately I’ve not been able to get a hang on any…. Nothing beats a good and organized working space.

I love this Sunday tradition! If only I weren’t so terrible at baking and doing pancakes as a whole, I would’ve easily snapped this up. At the moment my weekend routine is a bit of a mess but I always make sure to dedicate at least my Sunday evenings to catching up on other people’s blog posts.
